Hallelujah!

It’s that time of the week again with Yours Truly. Well, after the loud rumours of the “rapture” flying around, some probably thought Yours Truly was left behind when others were supposedly taken—including you, dear reader! But wait—after checking, I see all my friends are still here. No trumpets were blown, no graves were opened… and the day of the so-called rapture has passed.

Like I said last week: Hlala ulindile, Gara waka gadzira, Alwaysbe prepared. For no one knows the day nor the hour. Still, credit must be given to those who made the rapture stories trend. At least it was a sober reminder that Jesus is surely coming. They didn’t miss the event—only the date.

On a sadder note, Yours Truly was shocked to learn of the sudden passing of Babongile Skhonjwa. What a loss to the Mthwakazi people. The radio legend is being laid to rest today, and indeed he was given a befitting send-off by the state, his colleagues, friends, and the public at large. MHSRIP.

Meanwhile, in the capital, drama continues. The issue of Secretary Generals has taken centre stage at yet another club. Word is the coach removed the sitting SG and replaced him with another, but the outgoing one insists he’s not leaving. Well, Yours Truly can’t confirm the finer details, but what I do know is this: the SG position is juicy. I myself once served as Secretary General of a small company for eight solid years—not even annual elections could easily unseat me! A wise man chooses his battles wisely, so Yours Truly won’t comment further.

Crossing the Limpopo, I hear my sister down south has taken hustling to another level. The leader of Dubula, said to hail from Nkulumane eNkust, is spearheading a vigilante movement in South Africa that chases away other foreign nationals—yet she herself is one of us! Well, what can Yours Truly say? That’s hustling. Down there, you do whatever it takes to catch a little rand. Hustle responsibly, Zandie badudule sis weNkust.

On a brighter note, Yours Truly discovered a gem for the youth: a website that offers free online lessons with certificates. Those with the passion to learn lifetime skills can check out on http://www.ekasicourses.online and grow themselves for a better future.

Finally, on the sporting front, the Ballon d’Or went to our fellow black brother, Ousmane Dembélé, only the second African after George Weah. He edged out the young prodigy Lamine Yamal by fewer than 300 votes.

These have been this week’s trending stories with Yours Truly. Till next week, I’m out.
