Bosso Goal Drought Deepens as Highlanders Fire Blanks Again
Sports Correspondent – Highlanders FC’s struggles in front of goal continued after they were held to a frustrating goalless draw by ZPC Kariba FC in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 7 clash at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.
Bosso remain without a win this season, with the latest result extending their worrying drought to five consecutive matches without scoring. The stalemate leaves Highlanders on 12 points, while ZPC Kariba edged slightly up the table into 10th position.
At Rufaro Stadium, Dynamos FC missed an opportunity to go top of the standings after settling for a 1-1 draw against FC Platinum.
The visitors opened the scoring through Garikai Dematsika, putting Dynamos under early pressure. However, the hosts responded in the second half when Abel Gwatidzo calmly converted from the penalty spot to salvage a point.
The result moves Dynamos into third place with 15 points, while FC Platinum occupy seventh position.
Meanwhile, at Greenfuel Arena, Manica Diamonds FC fell to a 2-1 defeat against Herentals FC in a match that shifted dramatically after a first-half red card.
Manica Diamonds had taken the lead through Liberty Manzunzu, but their momentum was halted when Marlon Maziriri was sent off late in the first half. Herentals capitalised on the advantage, with Ralph Kawondera scoring the decisive goal early in the second half.
**Results:**
* Dynamos 1–1 FC Platinum
* Highlanders 0–0 ZPC Kariba
* Manica Diamonds 1–2 Herentals
