ZIMSEC Introduces New Security Measures for 2026 Exams

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has introduced new security measures for the 2026 public examinations, including traceable question papers and personalised answer sheets.

The system will allow examination papers to be linked to the centres where they were distributed, making it easier to trace the source of any suspected leaks.

ZIMSEC public relations manager Nicky Dhlamini said question papers and examination stationery were already being distributed to cluster centres.

Grade Seven examinations begin on September 21, while Ordinary and Advanced Level examinations start on October 12.

Dhlamini said security and loss-control teams would monitor the process from printing and distribution to the writing of examinations.

The measures are designed to strengthen examination security, prevent paper leaks and reduce the risk of script substitution or unauthorised materials entering examination rooms.
