President Mnangagwa Appoints New BAZ Board For 4-Year Term

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed a new 7-member Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) Board, with the incoming members set to serve for 4 years.

New BAZ board members announced
The appointments were confirmed on 4 September 2026 by Nick Mangwana, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services.

The new board comprises Tendai Jennifer Mandizvidza, Godfrey Mutobaya, Magna Mudyiwa, Caroline Makoni, Cloud Nyamundanda, Chief Serima (Vengai Rushwaya) and Prime Kufakunesu.

Mangwana said the appointments were made in accordance with Section 4(2) of the Broadcasting Services Act (Chapter 12:06).

“His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has appointed the following persons as members of the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe Board, for a period of four (4) years.”

What the new board will oversee
The BAZ board is responsible for overseeing key aspects of Zimbabwe’s broadcasting industry, including regulatory compliance and sector development.

The appointments come as the broadcasting sector continues to evolve, with regulation and industry growth among the board’s key responsibilities.

The new members will therefore serve a fixed 4-year term under the Broadcasting Services Act.
