Rapture talk with Elder Vaseline?

 Rapture talk with Elder Vaseline?

Welcome to this week’s sermon with Elder Vaseline. Hallelujah.

This month has been filled with headlines, prophecies, and heated debates across various platforms regarding the subject of the rapture. Some well-known men of God have gone as far as suggesting that the rapture is at hand and even pinpointing dates between the 23rd and 25th of September as the most likely time for this divine event.

Social media and pulpits alike have been abuzz with claims and counterclaims. Some point to natural phenomena, such as the moon turning into blood and an eclipse of the sun expected this weekend, as signs mentioned in Scripture. These are said to be part of the fulfillment of biblical prophecies. As written in Joel 2:31: “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.”

But what exactly is the rapture?

The rapture is a central theme in Christian eschatology. It is the belief that one day, Christ will return to gather His faithful followers. According to 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

This teaching emphasizes suddenness and preparedness. While many try to read into signs and seasons, Scripture is clear that the exact time is hidden. As Matthew 24:36 reminds us: “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”

Therefore, while the discussions, calculations, and speculations continue, one truth stands unshaken: the rapture is surely coming. Elder Vaseline encourages all believers—hlala ulindile, gara wakagadzirira, stay prepared.

Till next week , the elder is out.
