Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries (PHD) founder and leader, Prophet Walter Magaya, was re-arrested this morning shortly after appearing in court for a routine hearing in a rape case at the Harare Magistrates’ Court.
Information gathered by Maitengwe Post indicates that the two women who had previously lodged complaints did not appear in court.
Reports suggest that one complainant has allegedly withdrawn her case, while the other is now reportedly based in Ireland.
Charges on the new case were not yet available on the time of publication
Despite this, the court is said to have declined the withdrawal of the case. Immediately after the proceedings, Prophet Magaya was taken into custody and escorted in a police van from the court premises.
Prophet Magaya was initially arrested last year facing charges related to rape and fraud. He had been out on bail pending the outcome of the court process.
More details are expected to emerge as the situation develops.
This is a developing story.
